Set exchange rates

An exchange rate says how much one kind of money is worth in another. Keep a list of rates here if you buy in other money, like US dollars. Only the Owner can add a rate. A Manager can see the list.

Add a rate

1. In the menu, open Finance and press Exchange Rates.
2. Press Add Exchange Rate.
3. In From Currency, choose the money you change from, like USD — US Dollar.
4. In To Currency, choose the money you change to, like INR — Indian Rupee.
5. Type the Exchange Rate.
6. Check the Effective Date. It starts as today.
7. Press Create Rate.

The rate is how much of the second money you get for 1 of the first. Under the box, Orio360 shows it as a line like "1 USD = 83.5 INR". Check that line before you save. A small rate shows in full, like "1 INR = 0.0046 OMR".

Each list has 21 kinds of money. It has the money of the Gulf, like OMR — Omani Rial.

Keep the list up to date

Each pair, like USD to INR, can have one rate for each day. When the rate changes, add a new rate with the new date. The old rates stay in the list, newest first.

Each rate has an edit button and a delete button at the end of its row. To delete a rate, press Delete Rate in the box that opens.

How Orio360 uses the rates

Your sales bills never use these rates. Orio360 does not change the prices on your bills with them.

The rates help when you buy from a supplier in other money. A new purchase order in that money starts with your newest rate. That is the newest rate dated today or before. You can change it on the order. See Make a purchase order.

Each order keeps its own rate. A rate you add or change here later does not change the orders you already made.

If you saved only INR to USD, Orio360 turns that rate around for a US dollar order.
